This year, the Loyola faculty is made up of 38 full-time and part-time teachers who together have amassed hundred of years as educators.
Ten of them are alumns of Jesuit, Loyola and St. Vincent's Academy. Five of them are new to Loyola this year, but two are returning after being away for two years.
Each member of our faculty would tell you that teaching is his/her vocation.
Our teachers pride themselves in going the extra mile to help students succeed, whether that means coming early to school to meet with a struggling student, staying in at lunch to provide one-on-one tutoring, meeting after school to hold a study session or even holding weekend review sessions at a local coffee shop. These teachers' days never end at 3:00.
Most of our faculty sponsor clubs, coach teams or advise student groups in addition to their teaching duties.
Some organize and chaperone student trips to places as close as SciPort and as far away as Rome.
By serving as extracurricular advisors, their influence and efforts stretch far beyond the classroom.
Communication with parents is a hallmark of our school, so each teacher has an individual e-mail address and Loyola phone number with voice mail to make this happen. They upload grades to the Edline.net website weekly and are always available for parent/teacher conferences.
Their personal attention and extraordinary commitment are a huge part of each graduate's success story at Loyola.
