There was a big turnout on April 29 for the Dallas-area Alumni Gathering of graduates of St. John's, Jesuit, Loyola and St. Vincent's. Alumni Director John James Marshall '77 and Assistant Principal Tony Rinaudo '67 joined the North Texas group, which include alumni who drove from Austin and Tyler. Our thanks to Drew & Natalie Dossett '79 for their gracious hospitality in hosting the event at their home and to Chris Ward '76 for doing a masterful job in coordinating the food and beverages. Many Houston-area alumni gathered on April 27 for a casual get-together at Cavatore's Italian Restaurant. Among those gathered were alumni from every decade since the 1940s, as well as many St. Vincent's Academy graduates. The six finalists for Flyer of the Year were introduced to a school assembly and the Flyer of the Year, Ella Watkins, was presented with the first copy of the school yearbook, The Flight. Also, the yearbook was dedicated to assistant principal Tony Rinaudo '67. (17 photos)

The St. Vincent's Academy Alumnae Association held its annual "Tag Day" gathering on April 7 in the foyer of the Catholic Center on Fairfield Avenue. Proceeds from the event will be used for scholarships for children and grandchildren of SVA alumnae at Loyola College Prep. (11 photos)

Loyola College Prep hosted the third annual All-Schools Mass, which was brought together the Catholic schools in Shreveport as part of Catholic Schools Week. The Mass was celebrated by Bishop Michael Duca and other local priests and deacons. (27 photos)

Loyola students volunteer in the annual FAiTH (Flyers Aiding the Hungry) day drive. On December 7th, 2009, students prepared 565 baskets in the gym full of food for the holidays to give to families in need. Families with children were given a toy from "Santa's Workshop," as well as their basket of canned foods, bread, sugar, flour and ham. FAiTH has grown to be Loyola's largest club over the past 20 years. (15 photos)
