Sixteen Loyola students made the trip to Baton Rouge on Saturday, April 9 to compete in the State Literary Rally on Louisiana State University's campus.
The District Literary Rally was held on Saturday, March 12, and Loyola had 50 students compete with 13 of those students winning first place medals in 14 categories.

The Loyola College Prep Girls Soccer team was excited to continue celebrating their state championship with their sister schools, St. Joseph Catholic School and St. John Berchmans Catholic School.
Loyola College Prep announced today a $1.5 million planned gift that will create an endowment for tuition assistance. The gift was made by 1968 Jesuit alumnus, Gary Christ. Christ was a member of the Jesuit 1967 state championship football team in addition to participating in other sports, band, and student government during his time in high school.
Another stellar season for the Loyola girls soccer team ended in spectacular fashion in Southeastern Louisiana’s Strawberry Stadium Tuesday afternoon with a 4-1 victory over Archbishop Hannan in the LHSAA Division III championship game.
The girls soccer team beat St. Michael's 3-0 on Saturday and are headed to the state finals where they will play Archbishop Hannan on Tuesday in Hammond.
