January 27, 2022Announcements for Thursday, January 27, 2022 - Today is a B day.
- Due to the spike of Covid cases in Shreveport, Bishop Malone has temporarily halted school Mass, and there will be no Mass today. Instead, we will have a prayer service live-streamed on LCP-TV at our regularly scheduled Mass time- 9:30am. After Father Johnson and Father Daigle lead us in prayer and reflection, they will host the first webisode of what we hope will become a series, "Chatting with the Chaplains." Earlier in the week, students submitted questions through their Religion classes to ask our favorite chaplains all the questions they had about the faith. Tune it to LCP-TV to get the answers! We hope to be back at Mass very soon!
- Next week is National Catholic Schools Week. Loyola will celebrate the contributions Catholic Schools make to the lives of students, staff and communities all over the nation. We want your participation in the number of activities planned for the week. Monday will begin the week with a Team Trivia Game for prizes! Also, next week from Monday through Friday, Loyola will again collect water for Christian Service. Please make plans to bring bottled water to school. Faith on Fire! will be collecting the water in the cafeteria every morning from 7:15 until 7:40am. You may pull up next to the cafeteria and drop off water if necessary. Please help this great organization help those in need in our community
- The varsity girl's basketball game has been rescheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 2nd. at 6:00 pm at Loyola.
- SOCCER SENIOR NIGHT - TONIGHT AT MESSMER! Please join the girls' and boys' soccer teams for their last home games before the playoffs against Bossier High. The girls play at 6:00 and the boys at 7:45. The seniors for both teams will be presented immediately after the girls' game. Pizza and king cake will be provided for all student fans after the presentation. Good luck Flyers!!
- Here is a great service opportunity! This Saturday, January 29th from 11:00 AM to 1:30PM, the chaplains need 8 volunteers to help the Liturgy Committee work on improving the look and use of the Loyola chapel on the second floor of the residence building. Email your religion teacher if you want to volunteer. The chaplains and Religion Teachers will provide lunch for volunteers.
- Service Hour Opportunity - St. Joseph's Church is hosting an event on Valentines Day and they need volunteers to assist with set up, serving, clean up and child care. Sign up through the link - https://www.signupgenius.com/go/70A0A4DAFAA2CA6F94-valentines
- Service Hour Opportunity - Mary's House Pregnancy Care Center needs volunteers after school to label water bottles. This project should take two or three afternoons. Please contact L'Anne Sciba at maryshouse.sport@gmail.com if you are interested. Service hours will be awarded.
- Students must order lunch a week in advance via a Google form here: Week of 01.31.22 – 02.04.22. https://forms.gle/S4HD7PJbkg1BVRMq5 - The deadline to order meals for the week is FRIDAY at 2:30pm. Funds will be deducted from the student/faculty My School Bucks account. **Orders are charged even if they are not picked up. ** Orders must be placed from the students Loyola Google account/email. Orders not picked up by the 2nd half of lunch will be made available for sale. If you will be late due a meeting, test, etc, please arrange to have your lunch picked up.

- Parents: Registration for the 2022-2023 school year is open. The registration fee will remain at $300 if registering before the deadline of March 15. Financial aid applications are also due at this time. A letter to parents will be sent soon with further details.
