Announcements for Wednesday, April 19, 2023 - Today is an A day.

Seniors, please check your email for a google form to vote for prom king and queen. The voting will end at midnight tonight.

Good luck to the Lady Flyers Softball Team as they take on St. Charles tonight in the regional playoffs!

The Flyers Boys Golf Team won the district team title Monday by 63 strokes. The team was led by Charles Valiulis with a score of 68 and Charlie Bell with a 69. Charles Valiulis also won the individual district title. Rounding out the top five were Ross Alford, Jack Lauve and Connor Cassano. Regionals are set for Monday 4/24 at Stonebridge.

The Loyola Flyers Tennis Team dominated Division III regionals this week at Pierremont Oaks Tennis Club in Shreveport. The Girls team won First place and the Boys team was Co-Champion ending in a tie with Calvary.

Mae Graf and Cassidy Kirk won the girls doubles title. Sophia Fertitta and Audrey Dufrene were runners up in girls doubles. Sanders Graf and Ravi Ahuja won the boys doubles title. Bo Bowman and Gregor Ghali were runners up in boys doubles. Girls Singles Winner was Mary Marzelle Elberson. Taylor Nash was runner up in girls singles. Keller Brown was a boys singles semi finalist. Sadie Green and Addison Knox were girls doubles semi finalists.
Stander Olsan and Collier White were boys doubles quarter finalists. Landon Hooper was boys singles quarter finalist. All of our Flyers qualified for the State Tournament in Monroe next week.

Students must order lunch a week in advance via a Google form here: Week of 04.24-04.28.2023. https://forms.gle/BHqUsGALtSEysWYc7 - The deadline to order meals for the week is FRIDAY at 2:30pm. Funds will be deducted from the student/faculty My School Bucks account. **Orders are charged even if they are not picked up. ** Orders must be placed from the students Loyola Google account/email. Orders not picked up by the 2nd half of lunch will be made available for sale. If you will be late due a meeting, test, etc, please arrange to have your lunch picked up. Due to our vendor agreement with our Cafe provider, fast food or delivery are not allowed. Lunch should either be ordered from the Cafe, or brought from home. No exceptions.

LCP Cheer JV & Varsity applications are due this Friday, April 21^st. Please contact Coach Andy for any questions.

Senior service hours are due by May 5th.

JV Lacrosse will play their last game of the season on Tuesday, April 25 at 6:00pm at Messmer Stadium.

Prom tickets are on sale now. Go to MySchoolBucks to get yours today. Prom will be held at Loyola on Saturday April 22nd from 8 - 10 pm. Please see Coach Greene by Tuesday April 18th if you plan to invite someone from another school. Those forms MUST be turned in by Wednesday April 19th. The annual 5K Sam’s Run, will be held June 3rd, 2023. This Run was established to pay tribute to the memory of Sam Walker Lees. Sam’s Run helps to support and bring awareness to the Foundation that was formed in Sam’s memory. “The Look in the Mirror Foundation '', which has started a college scholarship fund. Please join us on June 3rd, with family and friends, runners, walkers of all ages to celebrate Sam’s memory with this 5K Run. The race starts at 8:00 am, on the grounds of LSUS, followed with food, beverages, music and awards. Service Hour Opportunity - Volunteer to help with Sam's Run! Sign up by sending your name and number to email ([email protected]), or text to 318-208-4473. You would need to arrive at LSUS at about 6:45 am on June 3rd.

Service Hour Opportunity - AHEC's Discovery Day is looking for students who can serve as group leaders for this one day event on Thursday, June 15, 2023. You do not have to have participated in AHEC to volunteer. Please contact Mrs. Clark for more information.

Service Hour Opportunities - Opportunity #1:

Volunteers can provide companionship to Bristol Hospice patients during the school year and over the summer. These are the following ways students can help: read a book, play or sing music, have a chat, write and deliver birthday cards each month, paint their nails, deliver blankets and pillows, or just help out in the office. (There is a two week on-boarding/ interview process that will start at the end of this month or the beginning of May. If the student is under 18 years of age, their parents would also need to join their child in the on-boarding process as well as with the visits to the hospice care center. Those students over the age of 18 can visit on their own after the interview process.) Opportunity #2
Volunteers can decorate paper place mats and write cards for elderly residents at Garden Park. The place mats are due in May. See Ms. Barker in R203 for paper place mats and markers/colored pencils.

Service Hour Opportunity - The 3^rd Annual Run 4 Everyone will be taking place at the Ochsner St. Mary campus on Saturday, May 13. Volunteers are needed to assist as Run Buddies – watching kids as their parents run the 5K. The link for the students to sign up is: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050B4FADAA22A5FD0-runfor . T-shirts are available to all volunteers.
