Announcements for Thursday, September 15, 2022 - Today is a B day. 

• Hispanic Heritage Month is coming and we want to acknowledge our Loyola families who have Hispanic heritage. Whether you are a student, faculty or staff if you are of Hispanic heritage (parents, grandparents or great-grandparents) please see Mrs. Soberal in room 205 anytime before Friday Sept 16. 

• Thank you to those who participated in filling out the second bracket for the F.Ai.T.H. movie night on October 7th. Please check your email to fill out the final round of voting by 2:30pm today.

• Students must order lunch a week in advance via a Google form here: Week of 09.19 – 09.23.2022.  https://forms.gle/afui419NtMM97ohW8 - The deadline to order meals for the week is FRIDAY at 2:30pm. Funds will be deducted from the student/faculty My School Bucks account. **Orders are charged even if they are not picked up. ** Orders must be placed from the students Loyola Google account/email. Orders not picked up by the 2nd half of lunch will be made available for sale. If you will be late due a meeting, test, etc, please arrange to have your lunch picked up. Due to our vendor agreement with our Cafe provider, fast food or delivery are not allowed. Lunch should either be ordered from the Cafe, or brought from home.  No exceptions.

• All students who signed up for the club " FAITH ON FIRE!", please take note! The first meeting of the group is this Friday, September 16th during the second half of lunch. Please meet in Room R204 before 12:40. The meeting will begin at the second bell. It is time to see this Loyola Faith more fully come alive. See you this Friday! 

• There will be a Flyers and Buyers meeting in Mr. Landreneau's room after school.

• Teen Advisory Council for the YWCA is a program designed to challenge, lead and educate young women towards leadership. The program will provide opportunities to learn about nonprofit operations, develop leadership skills and empower teen girls to learn more about themselves and make good decisions. Any female student with a minimum GPA of a 2.5 is welcome to apply. The deadline to apply is Friday, September 23.  Please see your English teacher or Ms. Hymel for more information. 

 

• Service Hour Opportunity - Volunteers needed to help at the St. Mary of the Pines food booth at the Red River Revel on Saturday, Oct. 8. Two shifts are available: 10 am- 2 pm and 1:30 pm - 6 pm. Please email Fr. Johnson by Friday, September 23 if interested: [email protected] .

• Service Hour Opportunity - "Empty Bowls", is the Food Bank’s annual fundraising dinner. It will take place on Thursday, September 22, 2022. Volunteers will be needed from 5:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. The event will be held in the grand ballroom of Bally’s Shreveport Casino & Hotel, Clyde Fant Parkway, Shreveport, LA; The primary task will be for the students to provide table (waiter) service for patrons. Tea/water refills, removal of dirty dishes, etc. *Suggested dress is a white shirt/blouse, dark pants (no holes!) and closed-toed shoes. (no sandals or flip flops). • Service Hour Opportunity - First Baptist Church School's Fall Carnival is Thursday, October 6th, 2022.  The carnival is from 3:00-6:00 pm. We will need 20 volunteers to work the event from 2:45-6:00.  If interested, please contact FBCS Volunteer Chairman Caroline McKenzie at [email protected] . 

• Class of 2026! If you are interested in becoming a SGA class officer for your grade, elections are coming up. This is a great way to be a student leader and get more involved at Loyola.
