September 15, 2023Announcements for Friday, September 15, 2023 - Today is a B day.
- Hispanic Heritage Month is September 15th - October 15th! This past September the 7th, the Caddo Parish Commission proclaimed Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15th through October 15th honoring the contributions of the Hispanic Community of Caddo and bordering parishes.
- Come cheer on your Flyers tonight as they take on the North DeSoto Griffins at Messmer at 7:00PM!
- It's Freshman Election season! Freshmen Class: If you are interested in running, please join our google classroom at this link. There is an assignment posted with more information on how to run. Please sign up if you are interested and show your Student Involvement!
- Any juniors or seniors considering medical school after college should come to an informational meeting on Tuesday, September 19 at 10:30 with Dr. Chirhart, the Pre-Med advisor at Centenary College. You do not have to be interested in Centenary to attend; this is for any student considering becoming a doctor. Mrs. Clark emailed a Google sign up on September 13- students must register in order to attend.
- All F.A.i.T.H. Officers and Members need to pay dues and select t-shirt size through myschoolbucks by October 1st.
- Extra homecoming shirts will be available on a first come first serve basis. Please contact Mrs. Bissell if you would like to get one.
- A Loyola College Prep Dance Guest Form must be completed for guests from other schools who will be accompanying any LCP student to the homecoming dance. The form must be returned to the office no later than 2:30pm the Wednesday before the dance. You may print a copy of the attached form or pick one up in the office.
- Homecoming dance tickets are on sale now. Purchase yours here! The dance is from 7-9 pm at LSUS ballroom.
- The junior class shirts are now on sale for $23. We would like to wear this navy t-shirt for challenge day, please order yours here..
- Here are the Homecoming Themes for Next Week (appropriate dress guidelines must be followed):
- Monday - Pajama Day
- Tuesday - Country vs. Country Club
- Wednesday - Anything but a Backpack (Mass Day - Students Must be in School Uniform)
- Thursday - Mathletes vs. Athletes
- Friday - Jersey Day
- The Youth in 6th through 12th grades in the Diocese of Shreveport are invited to 2023 Gather. 2023 Gather will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023, from 6:00-9:30 pm at St. Jude Catholic Church (4700 Palmetto Road, Benton, La 71006). The cost is $10 but please don't let that stop you from attending. This event will be an opportunity for youth throughout the deanery to “Gather” for food, fellowship, faith, and fun! The speaker for the event is Braden Johnson. He will speak about creating a culture of young people who are passionate and excited about their faith! Sign up forms are in each Religion teacher's classrooms and questions will be answered there. Sign up early!
- For the month of September, we ask that all students donate personal hygiene products for the Be Blessed Bags. These bags are for boys and girls in need in the Caddo school system. MiniVinnies will be collecting donations in the Religion classrooms until September 29th. Several of the regular-sized items to donate are as follows: toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant, lotion, and soap. See the full list of items in your religion class. For more information, please contact Ms. Barker.
- If you are a student who wishes to join the Loyola Flyer Girl and Boy Powerlifting Team, you will need to register and pay your team fees using the following MySchool Bucks link: https://www.myschoolbucks.com/ver2/prdembd?ref=ZZHNN9OEJC04EEM_ZZ605VDP7POOYCM The deadline to register is Friday, September 15th at 3pm.
- Students must order lunch a week in advance via a Google form here: Week of 09.18.2023-09.22.2023. https://forms.gle/DqR6jyxxUfZmxXWX7 - The deadline to order meals for the week is FRIDAY at 2:30pm. Funds will be deducted from the student/faculty My School Bucks account. **Orders are charged even if they are not picked up. ** Orders must be placed from the students Loyola Google account/email. Orders not picked up by the 2nd half of lunch will be made available for sale. If you will be late due a meeting, test, etc, please arrange to have your lunch picked up. Due to our vendor agreement with our Cafe provider, fast food or delivery are not allowed. Lunch should either be ordered from the Cafe, or brought from home. No exceptions.
- Service Hour Opportunity - St. Mark’s Cathedral School is searching for volunteers to help at the first Kids on the Run Race!

Current LCP students get in free with their ID. (Must have the actual student ID, pictures will NOT be accepted.)
- The Booster Club is hosting a tailgate this Friday at 5:30 at Messmer for our first home game against North Desoto. It's Hamburger Night! Please join us to cheer on the Flyers!!! Game starts at 7pm.
- We are excited to welcome all future Flyers to our first home game of the season this Friday, September 15. Gates open at 6pm and kickoff is at 7pm. Middle School students will need to check in at the Ticket Booth to pick up a ticket for entry into the stadium. Parents who wish to attend the game can purchase tickets for $10 each at the ticket booth or in advance on GoFan here: https://gofan.co/event/1062477?schoolId=LA23475. Children 6 and under are free.
