THE ADVENT SEASON Advent is a time to slow down with the goal of engaging in prayer and meditation. Ignatian Spirituality encourages you to prepare for a period of meditation by sitting comfortably, closing your eyes, and breathing deeply for a moment or two. Then allow any present concerns to move across your mind and wait off to the side for now. Then begin to focus on the face of Jesus as He comes to you in your meditation. Using one’s imagination in meditation and prayer is one tool to prepare for the coming of the Lord.
