THE ADVENT SEASON
Advent is a time to slow down with the goal of engaging in prayer and meditation. Ignatian Spirituality encourages you to prepare for a period of meditation by sitting comfortably, closing your eyes, and breathing deeply for a moment or two. Then allow any present concerns to move across your mind and wait off to the side for now. Then begin to focus on the face of Jesus as He comes to you in your meditation. Using one’s imagination in meditation and prayer is one tool to prepare for the coming of the Lord.

Announcements for Tuesday, November 30, 2021 - Today is a B day.

• TODAY IS A LATE START DAY.  The first bell rings at 9:15.  The tardy bell rings at 9:20.

• Father Raney and Father Daigle will be offering Confession in the Residence Building Chapel all day on Friday, 12/3.

• Juniors and Seniors - Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) has scheduled a Zoom meeting for interested juniors and seniors for this coming Friday morning at 8:30 a.m.

Register in Naviance if you are interested in attending.

• Students must order lunch a week in advance via a Google form here: Week of 12.06.2021 – 12.10.2021 . https://forms.gle/TnG3XVQFZ5dyG6Q57  The deadline to order meals for the week is THURSDAY at 4:00pm. Funds will be deducted from the student/faculty My School Bucks account. **Orders are charged even if not picked up. ** Orders must be placed from the students Loyola Google account/email.

Orders not picked up by the 2nd half of lunch will be made available for sale. If you will be late due a meeting, test, etc, please arrange to have your lunch picked up.

• FAiTH needs your help! Do you remember the excitement of opening up a new toy on Christmas morning? FAiTH wants to help hundreds of children experience that same excitement and joy! If Loyola students can bring in 300 NEW toys for ages 3-14, by THIS FRIDAY, December 3, we will ALL have spirit shirt jeans days for the two days of exams, December 16 and 17.  Please help spread the excitement! Toys may be brought to Ms. Hymel's office or the main office, by Friday.

• Come cheer on the Lady Flyers soccer team as they play the Shreve Gators tonight. The game starts at 6pm at Lee Hedges. See you there!

• Girls and Boys Varsity Basketball tonight at home vs. Huntington.  Girls game @6:00 PM followed by the Boys. 

• Juniors and Seniors - Representatives with the US Marine Corps will be here Wednesday Dec 1 at 10:25  (end of 2nd period) to talk with interested Juniors and Seniors about ROTC scholarships with the Marine Corps and answer questions.  Register in Naviance as you did for college visits.
• Service Hour Opportunity - 

St. Joseph is holding its annual St. Nick's Feast and Gumbo Cook-Off on Saturday, December 4, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the St. Joseph Church Family Life Center.  Volunteers are needed to help with set-up, working during the event, and post-event clean-up.  You can sign up to help here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0f4ea8a922a1fbc25-stnicks  For more information, please contact Lucy Medvec at [email protected].

• The LPA will host its monthly meeting Wednesday,  December 1 at the Catholic Center (3500 Fairfield Ave.) at 12:00PM.  The LPA hopes to see you there!
