December 8, 2023Announcements for Friday, December 8, 2023 - Today is a B day.
- All students should be in full winter uniform today. Today is a holy day of obligation.
- On Friday, December 8th, students will be receiving a LED tealight candle. The hope is that the students and their families will light the candle and have time for family prayer and reflection on the coming of Christ through the Advent and Christmas seasons. The accompanying and attached calendar will aid in the structure of this time. We pray that you and your families have a blessed and holy Advent and Christmas season.
- Boys and Girls Basketball play at Shreve tonight beginning at 6:00PM.
- There will be a Key Club meeting after Mass for all members and candidates. Roll will be taken.
- Both Lady Flyer soccer teams came away with wins over Airline High School on Wednesday evening! The varsity team finished the game 7-0 with goals coming from Cassie Campbell, Maggie Googe, Saniyah Simo, Kennady Kerr, Mary Helen Burford and two from Ainsley Matlock. JV also finished with a 1-0 win with the go ahead goal by Sadie Green. Great job Lady Flyers!!!

- Visit with Local Colleges at Lunch on Monday - On Monday, December 11, representatives from local colleges will be set up at Loyola during lunch. Please stop by their tables to get more information on admissions, scholarships, and other opportunities. They are happy to talk to students in all grades.
- Art Club Members- Please remember to bring your gifts and gift cards for the Gingerbread House family no later than Tuesday, 12/12. We are still lacking gifts. If you did not sign up to bring something, please do so asap.

- Students must order lunch a week in advance via a Google form here: Week of 12.11-12.15.2023. https://forms.gle/Gxdxq4GXk7dVnpXV6 - The deadline to order meals for the week is FRIDAY at 2:30pm. Funds will be deducted from the student/faculty My School Bucks account. **Orders are charged even if they are not picked up. ** Orders must be placed from the students Loyola Google account/email. Orders not picked up by the 2nd half of lunch will be made available for sale. If you will be late due a meeting, test, etc, please arrange to have your lunch picked up. Due to our vendor agreement with our Cafe provider, fast food or delivery are not allowed. Lunch should either be ordered from the Cafe, or brought from home. No exceptions.
- Core Class Semester Exam Schedule is Below: (Please note that other semester exams are scheduled for Dec. 12-13 or 14-15 depending on the student's teacher and class schedule. These days will be regular school days.)

Wednesday is an exam make-up day. Make-up exams only begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. for those students who were sick (with a doctor's excuse) on the original testing date. All other students will not attend school.- Please note that other semester exams are scheduled for Dec. 12-13 or 14-15 depending on the student's teacher and class schedule.
- Service Hour Opportunity - On December 16, 2023 at 11:00 am, Wreaths Across America will be at Greenwood Cemetery to Remember and Honor our veterans through the laying of Remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country's fallen heroes and the act of saying the name of each and every veteran aloud. - Service Hour Opportunity - St. John's is looking for a few mid to high level skilled Smash Bros. players to mentor their Esports club players after school for 1 hour (or a little more) on Wednesday, December 13th & Thursday, December 14th. - Service Hour Opportunity - Earn 6+ service hours and enjoy the Independence Bowl game! Ushers are needed to help on December 16th from 5:15 pm until the game is over. - Service Hour Opportunity - St. Joseph Church will be offering “Nativity Nights” Friday nights in December, 5-8 PM, during the advent season to engage kindergarten through 5th graders in the faith. Dinner will be served, and they will have games, activities, and crafts to involve each child in the true meaning of the season.
