Dear Parents,
I hope your summer is finding you and your family rested and ready for a new school year! Included in this email are several important information, dates, resources, and updates.
Freshman/New Student Orientation - Aug. 9 | 8 a.m. | LCP Gym
We are excited to welcome our new Freshman class and any new students on Aug. 9 at 8 a.m. for Orientation. Students need to wear their school uniforms and need to bring their iPads. Our Administration team will welcome students; students will meet our new chaplains, Father Johnson and Father Daigle, and Orientation Leaders will guide students to their classes; teachers will briefly meet with students in their classrooms and welcome them to Loyola. Orientation will conclude at 11:45 p.m., and students can be picked up in front of the gym or front of the school.
First Day of School - Aug. 10 | First Bell 7:40 a.m. | A Day
All students will have their first full day of school on Aug. 10. It will be an A day, and students need to report to their first-period class. We look forward to welcoming all students back on campus to begin another great school year!
COVID Updates & Protocols
COVID is on the top of everyone’s mind as information is rapidly changing; we will update all parents on our COVID protocols as determined by the Diocese of Shreveport Office of Catholic. Below are the guidelines at the time of this email.
Loyola College Prep Student Handbook
Students and parents must be familiar with our Student Handbook. We are in the process of updating it for this school year, but you can click here or click the link below to view the latest updated version.
Students will receive a handbook/honor code form in Religion on Aug. 13. Students must sign and return this form by their next Religion class.

My School Bucks/Cafeteria Plan
Loyola offers a full-service cafeteria, and we will continue to provide options for students to pre-order breakfast and lunch. All orders must be made from the student's school email.
For your student to dine with us, you will need to create an account with MySchoolBucks.com.
Here is a quick guide to set up your student for My School Bucks:
Note: Funds from middle schools under the Diocese will not transfer to LCP. If funds remain under your child's middle school, please contact that school’s office for a refund.
Please look at the following link for help: https://www.myschoolbucks.com/ver2/help/gethelpvideos.
Loyola uses My School Bucks for more than just cafeteria food plans. We use it for t-shirt sales, dances and more. I encourage you to create an account for your student no matter their preferred lunch option.
Bell Schedule
Here you will find the Rotating A&B Day Bell Schedule. The first bell rings every day (except Late Start Days) at 7:40 a.m., and students are released every day at 2:30 p.m. Late start days are communicated in our Daily Announcements about a week prior.
Daily Announcements & Important Dates
We primarily communicate with our students and parents via email. Please make sure that you are receiving our Daily Announcements once school starts. This communication method has the most up-to-date and accurate information. If you need to update your email address, please contact our main office, 226-6283.
Website
We are excited to announce that we are in the process of launching a new website! We are in the middle of a transition and ask for your patience with our website as we work to change our landing pages, reorganize, and update our calendar.
Click here for the Parent section of our website with information on Loyola Parent’s Association (LPA), our School App, and other quick links.
If you see anything that needs to change or update, please contact Jordan Harris - [email protected].
It’s a great year to be a Flyer! If you have any questions about this information or throughout the year, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are here to make your experience at Loyola the best it can be, and we are grateful that you chose Loyola College Prep.
Sincerely,
John H. LeBlanc
