Ms. Amy Burke is the newest science teacher at Loyola, and she has already put her students to work. In Ms. Burke’s Environment Science class they are working on bringing back the raised flower bed gardens. Students are tasked with cleaning out the old ones first, then they will research and plant a flower, fruit or vegetable that must produce something by the end of the semester for a grade.
Ms. Burke is excited for the students to see the literal fruits of their labor and have hands-on experience. She also says it’s nice to get out of the classroom and show the students how science can be applied in everyday life.
