The course objectives are to increase the students’ confidence in drawing, to experience the visual arts in different media and to develop an art vocabulary. Art II is a one credit elective course designed to reinforce the skills acquired in Art I. Further study in drawing, design, color theory, and mixed media are the focus. The objectives are to improve students’ techniques in different media and to produce advanced level compositions. Art III & IV are one credit courses designed to correct artistic weaknesses and to challenge them into unexplored areas. They will be challenged with both assigned and independent projects according to their own desired artistic exploration. Fine Arts Survey (CP) – 11th – 12th

Fine Art Survey is a one credit course focusing on the major time periods of the visual arts, in addition to the movements and artists beginning with prehistoric times and continuing through the Twentieth Century. Students will learn to identify styles , trends, and contributions artists have made throughout history. Students will learn t the basic skills and knowledge necessary to communicate in art forms. By learning the elements and principles of art, working with various media, and evaluating master artists’ styles and works, students will develop and appreciation for the presence of art both within the classroom and in their everyday lives. Media Arts I is a one credit course in which students skillfully apply the use of arts elements, principles of design and arts benchmarks through the digital integration of media. The purpose is to artistically apply media literacy and communication through digital media. The Media Arts class has a number of regular projects, including the live production of athletic and non-athletic events, a news-style program as well as a documentary-style program. Other video and communication projects are also produced for internal and external use. These projects are broadcast and/or published through the school's website and external live events page.Media Arts II (CP) – 12th

Media Arts III, or Multimedia Productions, is an elective course designed to expose students to audio and video productions. Students organize, produce, and direct audio and video presentations, both as group and individual projects. Formats will resemble radio, television, and web presentations. Theater I is a one credit elective introductory course to the theatrical arts. Students explore various elements of theater as actors and as spectators; from the Greek era to the Modern era of theater. Students learn diverse skills from developing characters and analyzing Shakespearean language, as well as auditioning and memorization skills. Students will participate in activities that are aimed to expand their imagination, tap into what is known as sense memory, and reflect in a daily journal. In addition to tests and quizzes, students will be asked to perform memorized monologues and are encouraged to audition for and attend two theatrical performances during the year. Theater II, or Acting I, is designed to develop acting skills through study of the Stanislavski and Michael Shurtleff methods. Character behaviors, thoughts, and movements on stage are essential components of the course. Students study the underlying principles of acting methodology by rehearsing scenes from classical and modern plays. Emphasis is placed on discovering and performing the dramatic action that drives the text. This is a production-based class. All members will be involved in LCP Productions.Theater III (CP) – 11th – 12th
