LUNCH:Students must order lunch a week in advance via a Google form here: Week of 03.17.2025-03.21.2025. (Week after Spring Break) https://forms.gle/HXz6AVMfFiXZ1EqQ8  - The deadline to order meals for the week is FRIDAY at 2:30 pm. REMINDER: Lent begins this week so the menu will be different for Ash Wednesday and Fridays during Lent.  Funds will be deducted from the student’s My School Bucks account. ** Orders are charged even if they are not picked up. ** Orders must be placed from the student’s Loyola Google account/email. Orders not picked up by the 2nd half of lunch will be made available for sale. If you will be late due a meeting, test, etc, please arrange to have your lunch picked up. Due to our vendor agreement with our Cafe provider, fast food or delivery are not allowed. Lunch should either be ordered from the Cafe, or brought from home.  No exceptions.

HAPPY BELLYS: Happy Belly’s will be coming to Loyola FRIDAY (3/7/25). Cash and card will be accepted.

WILDFIRE RELIEF:  We are proud to announce the successful landing of $4,640 towards the relief efforts in the California Wildfires. We are incredibly grateful to our Loyola community for putting our Faith in Action towards helping those in need.

GIRL’S SOFTBALL: The Lady Flyers won in an 18-0 shutout against Southwood! Congratulations to all the players on their victory!

GIRL’S SOCCER: Congratulations to Ainsley Matlock and Grace Weiford on being selected for the Louisiana All Star West soccer team! Best of luck in your game tomorrow as the West takes on the East, 6pm at Teurlings Catholic! We are proud of you! 

LACROSSE: Loyola Lacrosse Dominates Byrd 19-3

Loyola Lacrosse secured a commanding 19-3 victory over Byrd in their latest matchup. Leading the charge for Loyola, Charles Pippin had an outstanding performance, netting 6 goals and adding 1 assist. Jackson Thrasher contributed significantly with 5 goals and 3 assists, while Fatte Ivy added 4 goals and 1 assist. Holland Marrs also had a strong outing, finishing with 2 goals and 2 assists. Jack Gilmer contributed 2 goals, and Thomas Moore had 2 goals and 2 assists in the win. Hart Snyder rounded out the offensive effort with 1 assist. On the defensive end, Loyola's defense and goalie worked seamlessly together, limiting Byrd to just three goals throughout the game.

SNOOPY SHOOTOUT:  – Take your best shot! Snoopy Shootout is a benefit for the Flyer Alumni Association, and it will take place on Saturday, March 22 from 7:30 am to 12 pm, at the Shreveport Gun Club!
 
 This event will be a five-person team format, and individuals participating will be assigned to a team. The range fee is $500 per team or $100 per individual.

ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP: Don't forget! The Flyer Alumni Association and the St. Vincent's Academy Alumnae Association scholarship applications are now open!
 
 The application deadline for both scholarships is March 27, 2025.

REGISTRATION: Registration for the 2025-2026 school year has begun.  Please make sure your account has been created in FACTS in order to start the registration process.  The link for information to create the FACTS Family Portal account is: https://factsmgt.com/

The deadline to register is Monday, March 17.  After that date, the registration fee will increase to $500.

LA GATOR: **New 2025-2026 School Choice Funding Opportunity through the State of Louisiana, LA Gator**

Student applications for the 2025-2026 school year will open on March 1 and will be available at lagator.la.gov. The deadline to apply is April 15, 2025.

Prepare in advance and check your eligibility by reviewing  the LA GATOR eligibility requirements to ensure you qualify and use the eligibility pre-screener to check your status.

SENIOR SEND OFF SPONSORSHIPS (For All Seniors): The last day to purchase a sponsorship will be Friday, March 21.  There are only 13 seniors still looking for a sponsor. 

Let’s send ALL our Seniors off with a week to remember! Sponsor any Senior for just $60 and make one of their last weeks at Loyola extra special. STUDENT LEAD ROSARY: Student-led rosary every Tuesday at 7:15 am in the St. Michael Chapel. All students, faculty, and parents are welcome. 

PARENT ROSARY: Loyola Parent Rosary Group will meet to pray the rosary every Wednesday at 1:30pm in St. Michael's Chapel. All parents are welcome to attend. Also, please email [email protected] with any prayer requests or questions.

SERVICE HOUR OPPORTUNITIES:

PREGNANCY CENTER: Needs 8 volunteers to be at Cypress Baptist Church at 5:30 this Friday, March 7, 2025. The event starts at 7:00 (seating starts at 6:30).  Please see Coach Villalba during Homeroom today to let him know if you like to serve at this event! Thank you. [email protected].

GARDEN PARK:Garden Park meets every Wednesday, from 3 pm - 4 pm, at 9111 Linwood Avenue. Each week we participate in different and fun activities with the residents of Garden Park. For more information on this service hour opportunity, please contact Ms. Barker.

ST. JOSEPH’S ALTAR:  St. Joseph Church is hosting our St. Joseph Altar on Sunday, March 23rd.  We need baked goods for the dessert table.  The dates and times for delivery are as follows. We are asking for cakes, cookies, brownies, and dessert bars. If you donate items, please bring them disposable pans and make sure they are sealed well. Also, label the items and note if there are any types of nuts in your dessert. 

Thursday, March 20, 2025 – Desserts can be dropped off at the church office between 9 AM –

4 PM.

Saturday, March 22, 2025 – Desserts can be dropped off at the Family Life Center from 12 noon until 3 PM. 

Sunday, March 23, 2025 – Desserts can be dropped off at the St. Joseph Altar which will be set up in the Family Life Center. If you bring them on Sunday, please try to have them there by 10:30 am.

CADDO COUNCIL ON AGING: Volunteer to help at a Brunch and Bingo event benefiting Meals on Wheels on March 22 from 9:45 am - 1:30 pm at East Ridge Country Club.  Students must wear their uniform or uniform bottoms with a school spirit shirt. SHREVEPORT GARDEN CLUB:
