Loyola is proud to announce Collier White as the Student of the Year for the 2023-24 Academic Year! Finalists included Karlo Penales, Millicent Mascagni, Maggie Googe, and Reece Armagost.
“Collier represents what it means to be a Flyer,” Principal John LeBlan said. “He excels academically and is a model student in the classroom. He is involved in clubs and is a leader among his peers. He is truly just a great student, and we are proud to see him compete in the next level of competition.”
Each year the faculty nominates four finalists who are then interviewed by the Student of the Year Committee. These students are all class leaders, excel academically, and exhibit Loyola’s three pillars: student involvement, academic excellence, and faith in action.
Collier will go on to compete at the district level and hopefully advance to the regional and state competitions. Students are required to submit a comprehensive portfolio, conduct another round of interviews, and are judged on leadership activities, recognition, service and citizenship.
