February 5, 2024Announcements for February 5, 2024 - Today is a late start day.
- TODAY is a late start day. The first bell rings at 9:15 and the tardy bell rings at 9:20.
- Boys Soccer has advanced to the 2nd round of the playoffs! Loyola vs. Ouachita Christian February 7th at 5PM; Tickets may be purchased on GoFan! Reminder - per LHSAA regulations, students DO NOT get in free and season passes are not valid for playoffs.
- Senior Trip fundraiser Monday, February 5th from 5-9 PM at Chipotle on Youree Dr. 33% of sales will be donated to the cause! Order online using the code TDTHCNC or take a picture of the flyer at school.
- The students going on the European trip will be selling Valentine treat bags every day at lunch two dollars apiece. They will be delivered to the students on February 13. See Mrs. Franks for more details.
- Students must order lunch a week in advance via a Google form here: Week of 02.12-02.16.2024. https://forms.gle/7wbCGkrLJd3uFuSk7 - The deadline to order meals for the week is FRIDAY at 2:30pm. Funds will be deducted from the student/faculty My School Bucks account. **Orders are charged even if they are not picked up. ** Orders must be placed from the students Loyola Google account/email. Orders not picked up by the 2nd half of lunch will be made available for sale. If you will be late due a meeting, test, etc, please arrange to have your lunch picked up. Due to our vendor agreement with our Cafe provider, fast food or delivery are not allowed. Lunch should either be ordered from the Cafe, or brought from home. No exceptions.
- Job Opportunities - Geaux Swim located at 231 Mt. Zion Road, Shreveport, LA - the newest indoor pool in the city is looking for swim instructors and life guards for after school and weekends and especially during the summer. - Already a Spanish student? Or someone who is ready to become a Spanish speaker? This summer Mrs. Soberal will be taking a small group of students to Madrid, Spain to study immersive Spanish for 2 weeks. If interested contact Mrs. Soberal by next week. Spaces are limited.
- There will be a youth night for all high schoolers from 6:00pm- 7:15pm on Wednesday, February 21st in the SJB parish hall. It will be a night of fellowship, food, and lots of fun. There's going to be games, food, time to meet other students!
- Student musicians needed - There's going to be an adoration night in the cathedral which will take place on Wednesday March 20th from 6-7:15pm. During adoration there will be contemporary worship music performed by students. They need a few more students to play an instrument or sing. - Saturday, March 2, 2024 there will be a Diocesan Youth Summit at the Catholic Center from 10am- 6:30pm. The summit is open to all high school students.
- Students may register by dropping off the attached Diocese Consent/Liability Waiver and Event Forms to Melisa Jimenez at the St. John Berchmans church office or email the forms to [email protected] . Please contact Melisa with any questions at 318-221-5296 ext. 116.
-The last day to register is Feb 12th .
- SGA is holding the Winter Formal at EastRidge Country Club on February 10th. Tickets are $30 and can now be purchased via the link. Purchase tickets here!
- A Loyola College Prep Dance Guest Form must be completed for guests from other schools who will be accompanying any LCP student to the Winter Formal. The form must be returned to the office no later than 2:30pm February 7th. Forms are attached or you may pick one up in the office.
- Service Hour Opportunity - Volunteers are needed for the Spring Luncheon for the Catholic Women's League. The event will take place in the parish hall at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church at 4746 Lyba Street on Tuesday, March 12th. This is during LCP spring break. Volunteers will be needed from 10:30 - 1:30. If you are interested in signing up to help, please contact Cherie at [email protected] .
