LCP Boys won the Kelly Gibson High School Invitational against their statewide competition. This is considered the strongest victory for the Flyer golf team in the last 4 years. Charlie Bell led the team with a 2 day total of 3 under. Connor Cassano finished at 3 over, followed by Jack Gilmer, Jack Lauve, Charles Valiluis with Collier White as an individual. Great team effort by the boys!

Boys and Girls Soccer have both advanced to the 2nd round of the playoffs! Both games will be played at Messmer on Wednesday, February 7th.The girls will play Acadiana Renaissance Charter Academy at 4:00PM and the boys will play Ouachita Christian at 6:00PM; Tickets may be purchased on GoFan!Reminder - per LHSAA regulations, everyone must purchase a ticket for each game (6 and under are free) and season passes are not valid for playoffs. The parents of the Flyers Boys and Girls Soccer Teams have gotten together to provide our students with an outstanding night of soccer and food at Messmer Stadium on Wednesday night! The Boys Soccer parents will be providing Raising Cane’s chicken to Loyola students who attend the boys soccer game.The Girls Soccer parents will be providing hot dogs, chips and drinks to Loyola students who attend the girls soccer game. First come first served while supplies last.
Congratulations to Andy Thrasher, Martha Vancherie and Julia Braud who competed in the Regional Poetry Out Loud Competition Saturday at LSUS! Each student impressed the judges and Julia Braud placed 3rd overall in the competition.
Mikayla Morales, Mia Hoover, Eleanor Pringle, and Max Mayeaux competed in the regional IEA Equestrian show in Benton on Sunday. Their team won first place and qualified for zones in San Antonio next month.
Lacrosse Team News - The JV LACROSSE team won their first game last Friday night dominating the gators 15 to 7! The flyers held the gators to 0 points in the first period with 4 goals scored by Anderson Phillips, Thomas Moore and Alex Mitchell. The shreve gators got fired up in the 2nd scoring 4 of their own. But, then the flyers answered back with goals by Thomas Moore, Drake Rodgers and Hart Snyder. The Flyers continued to outscore Shreve each period with additional goals by Alex Mitchell, Anderson Phillips and Archer Elston. And congrats to the goalie, Ryan Sipes, with his first lacrosse game and win! The Varsity Lacrosse team had their first game of the season this last Friday. With 4 seconds left in the first period, the Flyers first goal of the season was scored by Charles Pippin. Fatte Ivey and Pippin scored Loyola's 2nd and 3rd goals. Although the Flyers lost to Captain Shreve 22-3 and it wasn’t the desired outcome, the Flyers are looking forward to an exciting season with their next game in two weeks.
Senior students will be selling Valentine Treat Bags at lunch for $2. These will be delivered to students on Feb. 13. See Ms. Franks for more details.

Funds will be deducted from the student/faculty My School Bucks account. **Orders are charged even if they are not picked up. ** Orders must be placed from the students Loyola Google account/email. Orders not picked up by the 2nd half of lunch will be made available for sale. If you will be late due a meeting, test, etc, please arrange to have your lunch picked up. Due to our vendor agreement with our Cafe provider, fast food or delivery are not allowed. Lunch should either be ordered from the Cafe, or brought from home. No exceptions.

Already a Spanish student? Or someone who is ready to become a Spanish speaker? This summer Mrs. Soberal will be taking a small group of students to Madrid, Spain to study immersive Spanish for 2 weeks. If interested contact Mrs. Soberal by next week. Spaces are limited.
There will be a youth night for all high schoolers from 6:00pm- 7:15pm on Wednesday, February 21st in the SJB parish hall. It will be a night of fellowship, food, and lots of fun. There's going to be games, food, time to meet other students!
Saturday, March 2, 2024 there will be a Diocesan Youth Summit at the Catholic Center from 10am- 6:30pm. The summit is open to all high school students.

A Loyola College Prep Dance Guest Form must be completed for guests from other schools who will be accompanying any LCP student to the Winter Formal. The form must be returned to the office no later than 2:30pm February 7th. Forms areattached or you may pick one up in the office.
Service Hour Opportunity - Volunteers are needed for the Spring Luncheon for the Catholic Women's League. The event will take place in the parish hall at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church at 4746 Lyba Street on Tuesday, March 12th. This is during LCP spring break.
