May 3, 2023Announcements for Wednesday, May 3, 2023 - Today is an A day.
- If you did not get your yearbook last week, please come by room 200 today and pick it up. Remember, everyone gets one. You did not have to order one!
- Senior service hours are due by May 5th.
- Seniors - cap and gown pick up is in the Anderson Building during school hours. If you owe any fees, books, uniforms etc, you will be unable to pick up your cap and gown until those obligations are met. You also must have fulfilled your service hour requirement. If you are unsure if you owe anything, please contact Mrs. Smith or Ms. Leone in the Anderson Building.
- Students must order lunch a week in advance via a Google form here: Week of 05.08.23 – 05.12.23. https://forms.gle/Sm7HR2kK7EJj2oFy5 - The deadline to order meals for the week is FRIDAY at 2:30pm. Funds will be deducted from the student/faculty My School Bucks account. **Orders are charged even if they are not picked up. ** Orders must be placed from the students Loyola Google account/email. Orders not picked up by the 2nd half of lunch will be made available for sale. If you will be late due a meeting, test, etc, please arrange to have your lunch picked up. Due to our vendor agreement with our Cafe provider, fast food or delivery are not allowed. Lunch should either be ordered from the Cafe, or brought from home. No exceptions.
- Flyer Day Party at Garden Park will be Wednesday, May 17th at 9111 Linwood Avenue! Bring your school spirit gear and Flyer spirit, and I'll bring the bubbles and treats. Let's end this school year right by showing the residents our Flyer spirit and talents! The elderly residents really miss y'all, so please join Ms. Barker for one last "HURRAH!" this school year.
- Service Hour Opportunity - There will be a sporting clay tournament at the Shreveport Gun Club to benefit St. Joseph School and they are in need of volunteers on the day of the event, Saturday May 6th. The times for volunteers would be from 11am-1pm. The duties would include calculating scores and picking up spent hulls after the tournament has ended. Volunteers can contact Andrew Pringle via email ([email protected]) or phone 318.347.5227.
- The deadline to sign up to volunteer for any field day is by noon the day prior to the event. No sign ups/emails will be accepted after that time.
- Service Hour Opportunity for former SJB Students- SJB's field day will be on Friday, May 12th and they need volunteers. Students need to plan to be at SJB no later than 7:45 that morning. You must have a C or better in all courses and must have parent permission emailed to Mrs. Watts at [email protected]. A sign up sheet will be located in the front office.
- Service Hour Opportunity for former SMCS Students - Field Day is coming up on May 5th and St. Mark's needs volunteers. If you would like to help, please sign up using the link. - Service Hour Opportunity for former FBCS Students - First Baptist Church School is looking for volunteers to help with Field Day on Friday, May 12th from 8:30am to 1:30pm. You must have a C or better in all courses and must have parent permission emailed to Mrs. Watts at [email protected]. - Service Hour Opportunity for former St. Joseph's Students - St. Joseph's Field Day will be on Friday, May 5th from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm at Mesmer Stadium and they need volunteers. Students that sign up need to be there by 7:45 am. You must have a C or better in all courses and must have parent permission emailed to Mrs. Watts at [email protected]. A sign up sheet will be located in the front office.
- Service Hour Opportunity - Volunteers are needed for The Arc Caddo-Bossier's GREAT Program. This program is dedicated to building unlimited opportunities for people with disabilities through equine assisted services. The GREAT Program's Camp Victory will need volunteers for the summer sessions: June 5-9 & June 12-16; Monday—Friday 8:30-1:00. - Service Hour Opportunity - AHEC's Discovery Day is looking for students who can serve as group leaders for this one day event on Thursday, June 15, 2023. You do not have to have participated in AHEC to volunteer. Please contact Mrs. Clark for more information.
- Service Hour Opportunity - The 3rd Annual Run 4 Everyone will be taking place at the Ochsner St. Mary campus on Saturday, May 13. Volunteers are needed to assist as Run Buddies – watching kids as their parents run the 5K. The link for the students to sign up is: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050B4FADAA22A5FD0-runfor . T-shirts are available to all volunteers.

- Student directories are still available to purchase for $5 in the Anderson building! (These are handy for keeping up with friends after graduation.)
- Calling all Flyer Football Parents!!!! Our Booster Club is in need of your support. Coach Greene has given us a wish list of items for the team including new uniforms and weight room equipment. We would like to have all funds raised by Friday May 12th, so we can order these new uniforms and equipment in time for our boys to use them during summer practices. Our goal is $50,000! - Anyone who would like to be added to our list of potential paid substitute teachers should contact Mrs. Johnson at [email protected]. Subs will have to follow state and diocesan regulations which include being fingerprinted, having a full background check, and taking Protecting God's Children.
