Announcements for August 21, 2024 - B Day
BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT: Parents, please join us TONIGHT, Wednesday, August 21st, at 5:30 PM in the gym for Back to School Night. Please have access to a copy of your student's schedule.
LUNCH:Students must order lunch a week in advance via a Google form here: Week of 08.26.2024-08.30.2024. https://forms.gle/espjo5mBAvEXmKFu6 - The deadline to order meals for the week is FRIDAY at 2:30pm.
This is the last week orders can be placed from a Non-Loyola email address. Going forward you must be logged into the students Loyola email account to place an order.
Due to our vendor agreement with our Cafe provider, fast food or delivery are not allowed. Lunch should either be ordered from the Cafe, or brought from home. No exceptions.
CATHOLIC CONFIRMATION: Attention Flyer parents and students, Father Raney Johnson, Loyola’s Chaplain, will be helping Catholic students who need the Sacrament of Confirmation this year. Please email Fr. Raney at [email protected] if you would like more information.
BIBLE STUDY: The Boys and Girls Bible Study groups will be meeting each Wednesday during lunch. The Girls Bible Study will meet in Room 203, and the Boys Bible Study will meet in the Prayer Garden in front of the school. Please join your fellow Flyers for scripture study and community. We will also have the Girls Bible Study and Boys Bible Study this Friday, August 23 during Homeroom.
ROSARY AND CONFESSION: Attention Flyers, we will have a student-led Rosary after each Mass this year, and Fr. Raney will be hearing confessions after each Mass in the Confessional during the Rosary. Please let your homeroom teacher know if you would like to stay for the Rosary after Mass or go to Confession.
CHESS CLUB: Chess club interest meeting on Wednesday, August 28th during the second half of lunch in Room 100.
CROSS COUNTRY: The Loyola cross country team Parent Meeting will immediately follow back-to-school night in Coach Villalba's classroom (203).
VOTE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Congratulations to Jac Ebarb for being selected as a Football Preseason Player of the Year Candidate by both the Shreveport Times and Shreveport Bossier Advocate. You can vote for Jac through a link in your email.

SENIORS: Mrs. Clark will be hosting a college application help session on the Common App this Friday, August 23 in the cafeteria during homeroom. Come get a start on the application, continue working, or finalize and submit! Next Tuesday during homeroom, the help session will be on the college admissions essay. PARENTS:The LPA will soon be publishing a Student Directory. The information in the directory will include names, phone numbers, emails and addresses of students and parents. FRESHMEN RETREAT: The Freshman Religion Retreat will be on Tuesday, August 27th from 9 am to 2:30 at St. John Berchmans Cathedral Parish Hall next to Loyola. This will be a regular school day and attendance will be taken. Please be sure to return the permission slip for the retreat to either the office or Mr. Villalba.

CONCESSIONS:This year the faculty, staff and students will be running the concession stands at Messmer for Football, Soccer and Lacrosse. We are excited about this new opportunity for students to earn service hours and life experience. We are asking students to sign up for games to sell concessions. The attached form is for the 2024-25 Football season.
We will have the full concession stand on the Home Team's side and a smaller temporary concession stand on the Visitor's side.
We are looking forward to a great year.
Students will receive 5 service hours per Varsity game, if they stay the whole game.
They will receive 3 hours per JV games/Jets games.
Varsity Games 5:30 p.m.- 9:00 p.m.
JV and Jets Games 4:30 p.m.- 7:00 p.m.

BLUE SEATS for FOOTBALL: Reserved Blue Seats are on sale for all parents, alumni and the Loyola community. Blue Seat passes are $200 each and are valid for one reserved seat admission per pass for every regular season home football game, including JV and scrimmages. View the Seating Chart here.
We are also offering General Admission Football and Volleyball Season Passes. Passes are $50 each and are valid for one (1) general admission for all home regular season Varsity and JV games and scrimmages.

FUNDRAISER: The 6th annual "Run, Run, Snoopy 5K" Saturday, August 24 will be full of fun, great food from Dillas and snow cones!
