LUNCH: Students must order lunch a week in advance via a Google form here: Week of 09.23.2024-09.27.2024. https://forms.gle/Ddhi176UyR9aXL4E6 - The deadline to order meals for the week is FRIDAY at 2:30pm. Funds will be deducted from the student/faculty My School Bucks account. Orders are charged even if they are not picked up. Orders must be placed from the students Loyola Google account/email. Orders not picked up by the 2nd half of lunch will be made available for sale. If you will be late due a meeting, test, etc, please arrange to have your lunch picked up. Due to our vendor agreement with our Cafe provider, fast food or delivery are not allowed. Lunch should either be ordered from the Cafe, or brought from home. No exceptions.
SOFTBALL: The Lady Flyers softball team will be taking on the Southwood Cowgirls once again this Tuesday, September 16th at 5 p.m. The game is located at the Caddo Magnet High School softball field. Tickets are $5 at the entrance.
QUIZ BOWL:There will be a quiz bowl meeting today, September 17th, during the first half of lunch in the Biology lab. Members going to the Tal Atkin tournament on Saturday should attend the meeting. If you are going to the tournament, but can't make the meeting, please email Mrs. Weiss.
CONSTITUTION DAY: Today, we celebrate the US Constitution which was signed on September 17, 1787 by thirty-nine brave men who changed the course of history. These men came together to create "a more perfect union". Our remarkably unique document begins with three simple words "We the People" which established YOUR voice in OUR government. This is a revolutionary idea and a gift from our Founding Fathers to us.
FCA: FCA will be hosting a meeting thisThursday, September 19th at 7:15 a.m. in the cafeteria. Jerry Montgomery, a former Loyola FCA sponsor and former college tennis coach, will be speaking. There will be breakfast for everyone, we hope to see you there!
CROSS COUNTRY: Congratulations to the Loyola Cross Country Team for setting 15 PR's at the Border Dash XC Meet in Bossier City!
The Girls XC Team was led by Julia Braud (26:12.9), followed by Teresa Fields, Lily Harris, Sophia Boggs, and Ava Bauer. The Boys XC Team was led by Mark Henry (18:01.6) followed by Reese Jacobs, Mathis Stanberry, Nick Kampert, Carter Ward, Eddie Villalba, Carter Spohr, Dixon Wright, Archer Elston, Andrew Kim, and Jackson Griffies.
PICTURE RETAKES: If you missed school pictures or want to do a retake the makeup day is Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 3:15pm. You must go to Harrington House, which is located two blocks from the school at the corner of Margaret Place and Line Avenue.
COLLEGE VISITS: Juniors and Seniors - Centenary College will be here Tuesday, Sept 17 at 11:45 AM. Seniors who have already been admitted should still attend- this is a great opportunity to talk about housing, scholarships, and admitted students events. Please register on Scoir. REMEMBER: you must register at least 24 hours in advance to come!
HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH: Hispanic Heritage Month starts this week and here at Loyola we would like to celebrate Flyers who are of hispanic descent. Any student or faculty member who has Hispanic heritage please email Mrs. Soberal by the end of this week. She only needs to know your name and country of heritage.
ACT PREP COURSE: If you are interested in an ACT prep course one begins this Sunday, September 22nd. Please stop by the office for a handout.
DRIVERS EDUCATION: If you are interested in drivers education classes, you can pick up a handout with information in the front office.
HOMECOMING TICKETS: Homecoming Dance tickets are now on sale. The dance is Saturday, September 28th at the LSUS Ballroom from 8PM to 10PM. All students attending must be there no later than 8:30PM and must stay until 10:00PM.
If your student has a homecoming date from another school please have them pick up a form in the office. It must be turned in to the office before the dance.

SERVICE HOUR OPPORTUNITIES:
CONCESSIONS:This year the faculty, staff and students will be running the concession stands at Messmer for Football, Soccer and Lacrosse. We are excited about this new opportunity for students to earn service hours and life experience. We are asking students to sign up for games to sell concessions. The link below iis for the 2024-25 Football season. We will have the full concession stand on the Home Team's side and a smaller temporary concession stand on the Visitor's side.
We are looking forward to a great year.
Students will receive 5 service hours per Varsity game, if they stay the whole game. They will receive 3 hours per JV games/Jets games.
Varsity Games 5:30 p.m.- 9:00 p.m. JV and Jets Games 4:30 p.m.- 7:00 p.m.
RASA: The nonprofit organization RASA is having a 5K on September 21st, and is asking for 10 volunteers to help at the registration table and water stops.
A.C. STEERE FALL FESTIVAL: Fall Festival at AC Steere on Thursday, October 3, 2024 from 4:30pm to 8pm. Volunteers need to report to the sign-in table in front of the cafeteria. They will need student volunteers to help with the different activities and booths.
ST. MARK’S KIDS ON THE RUN RACE: Volunteers are needed to man the registration table and work on the course. The race is Thursday, October 3rd from 4:30 - 6pm at the Stoner Ave. Skate Park. Loyola students are needed to help with Bouncy House, Dunking Booth, children's games and working a concession stand. There is also the need for one or two students to paint faces.
