Announcements for September 27, 2024 -  B  Day

LUNCH: Students must order lunch a week in advance via a Google form here:  Week of 09.30.2024-10.04.2024.  https://forms.gle/9CjdonutFip5jeyM6- The deadline to order meals for the week is FRIDAY at 2:30pm. Funds will be deducted from the student/faculty My School Bucks account.

 

Orders are charged even if they are not picked up.Orders must be placed from the students Loyola Google account/email. Orders not picked up by the 2nd half of lunch will be made available for sale. If you will be late due a meeting, test, etc, please arrange to have your lunch picked up. 

 

Due to our vendor agreement with our Cafe provider, fast food or delivery are not allowed. Lunch should either be ordered from the Cafe, or brought from home.  No exceptions.

HOMECOMING WEEK: Jerseys -Represent your favorite team or player by sporting your best jersey! 
•    Dress in your PROPER UNIFORM. 
•    Whether it’s a top hat, chef hat, hard hat or a baseball cap, use this chance to show off all your wild hat accessories. 
•    You must be able to remove your hat for Mass.
•    Please be creative and use good judgment.  
•    SJB & SJS: Spirit Shirt Day 
GUIDELINES
•    If you are not dressed in the theme for the day, you must be in proper uniform.
o    Dresses, athletic shorts, and skirts must be a modest length (and shorts must absolutely be longer than the t-shirt they are being worn with).
o    Jeans, capris, cropped pants, etc. are fine as long as there are no holes in them.
•    Sleeveless shirts are acceptable, as long as they are not “tank tops” or do not have spaghetti straps and bra straps are not showing.
•    Nobody should be able to readily see undergarments.
•    Yoga pants and/or leggings may not be worn alone as pants; Sweatpants/joggers are acceptable as long as they are appropriate.Tennis skirts are not acceptable. 
•    Tops don’t have to be tucked in, but they may not be too low cut at the neckline and must not expose the midriff.
•    Again, no undergarments should be seen.
If you do not abide by these guidelines, you will be sent home to change back into your school uniform. We can’t wait to see everyone all dressed up. Happy HOCO!

TAILGATE: All parents are invited to join the LCP Booster Club for their tailgate on Sept. 27. The fun and food starts at 5:30 p.m. right next to Messmer Stadium before the Flyer kickoff at 7 p.m. We hope to see you there! Donations are appreciated.

GAME ADMISSION FOR STUDENTS: All students are required to have their current Student ID for free admission to any home games. The student's photo should not be covered and pictures of the ID on cell phones are not permitted.

BOWLING:  There will be a bowling interest meeting for new & returning players October 2 second half of lunch in room 100.

CLOSE UP: Juniors and seniors interested in attending 2025 Close Up need to have their paperwork in by September 30,2024. Please bring your forms to the office.

COOKIE CATHEDRAL: The Campus Ministry's Cookie Cathedral stand will be taking a hiatus until Thursday, October 3. This month, the Cookie Cathedral will be sending all the money raised to Mary's House. We raised $183 for Mary's House. Thank you for your support! We will return with some new items next month, including chocolate ice cream. See you next month!

HOMECOMING TICKETS: Homecoming Dance tickets are now on sale. The dance is Saturday, September 28th at the LSUS Ballroom from 8PM to 10PM. All students attending must be there no later than 8:30PM and must stay until 10:00PM.

If your student has a homecoming date from another school please have them pick up a form in the office.  It must be turned in to the office before the dance.

Seniors, reminder to go to Harrington House and get your senior portraits done ASAP. They will take a photo that is needed for the Style Show.

SERVICE HOUR OPPORTUNITIES: 

HOLY ANGELS TASTE:  Come help with load on Thursday, September 26, 2024 from 1 – 4 at the Shreveport Convention Center.  You will need parent permission to check out of school.

ST. JOSEPH’S: Falcon Fest '24. SJS needs  8 LCP students to set up for the Falcon Fest event from  1 - 3 PM on Saturday, Oct. 5. Arrive at SJS parking lot and be ready to move tables/chairs/set up booths and stock ice in coolers.

CONCESSIONS:We still need students to sign up for the concession booth. If you signed up in the past and missed your shift you have been removed and will need to sign up again for upcoming shifts.

Students will receive 5 service hours per Varsity game, if they stay the whole game.
They will receive 3 hours per JV games/Jets games.
 
Varsity Games 5:30 p.m.- 9:00 p.m. 
JV and Jets Games 4:30 p.m.- 7:00 p.m.

A.C. STEERE FALL FESTIVAL: Fall Festival at AC Steere on Thursday, October 3, 2024 from 4:30pm to 8pm.  Volunteers need to report to the sign-in table in front of the cafeteria. They will need student volunteers to help with the different activities and booths. The volunteers should arrive around 4:30pm if possible. They can wear a school spirit shirt. There will be a volunteer table for signing in and out. If you bring a service hour sheet with you it will be completed upon checking out. They can bring their own water, but each volunteer will be given a meal voucher - hotdog, hamburger, or other main item, chips, and drink.

ST. MARK’S KIDS ON THE RUN RACE:  Volunteers are needed to man the registration table and work on the course. The race is Thursday, October 3rd from 4:30 - 6pm at the Stoner Ave. Skate Park.  Sign up at the following link: https://www.timetosignup.com/smcslions/sheet/1319603/
ST. MARY’S FALL FEST: St. Mary of the Pines Parish will celebrate its Fall Festival on Saturday, October 5, 2024.  Loyola students are needed to help with Bouncy House, Dunking Booth, children's games and working a concession stand.  There is also the need for one or two students to paint faces.  To volunteer, call the church office at (318) 687-5121 and sign the sign up sheet in LCP’s front office.  The Fall Festival will be held on the grounds of St. Mary of the Pines at 1050 Bert Kouns Industrial Loop/Shreveport, LA 71118.
