Announcements for November 4, 2024 -  A Day

LUNCH: Students must order lunch a week in advance via a Google form here: Week of 11.11-11.15.2024.  https://forms.gle/RiaC4eBfivuGcndx9 The deadline to order meals for the week is FRIDAY at 2:30pm. Funds will be deducted from the student/faculty My School Bucks account.

Orders are charged even if they are not picked up.Orders must be placed from the students Loyola Google account/email. Orders not picked up by the 2nd half of lunch will be made available for sale. If you will be late due a meeting, test, etc, please arrange to have your lunch picked up. 

Due to our vendor agreement with our Cafe provider, fast food or delivery are not allowed. Lunch should either be ordered from the Cafe, or brought from home.  No exceptions.

LADY FLYER SOCCER: Come out to Mesmer stadium, Tuesday, November 6th, at 6:00 and support your Lady Flyer soccer team as they play Parkway in their first preseason scrimmage of the year.  Before the game, grab something to eat at Taziki’s, mention the Lady Flyers and a portion of the proceeds will go to support the team.  

TRACK AND FIELD: There will be a meeting for anyone interested in joining the track team on Wednesday, November 6th, during homeroom!

BUSINESS CLUB MEETING: There will be a Business Club meeting with a guest speaker Wednesday, November 6th, during lunch in Main Building 105.

PORTER’S COAT DRIVE: Please bring in gently used or new coats to help those in need this winter season. The coats can be dropped off in the box located in the front office.  The 1st pick up will be before Thanksgiving break and the second pickup will be before Christmas break. Let’s show our Faith in Action to our local community. 

VETERAN’S DAY: Veterans Day pays tribute to all American veterans—living or dead—but especially gives thanks to living veterans who served their country honorably during war or peacetime. Loyola has partnered with an organization to provide hand written thank you cards to local veterans. Please come to the main office where materials are available to create a letter. Each letter needs to demonstrate heartfelt appreciation for veterans and be a minimum of 5 sentences. Please also decorate the envelope with a patriotic theme. Please leave the envelope unsealed and do not write your last name anywhere. These will be due by November 8th at 2:30. 

SEASON PASSESS BASKETBALL AND SOCCER: Season Passes for Basketball and Soccer are now on sale. Basketball passes are $84 each and Soccer Passes are $96 each for Boys and $64 each for girls. Each card allows for 1 admission to every pre and regular season game for freshmen, JV and Varsity games. Children 6 and under get in free.

SOFTBALL FUNDRAISER: Support your Lady Flyers Softball by purchasing a Flyer Athletics Stadium Cushion for $15.75. The cushions are a 13” x 14” closed cell foam with a handle and are water resistant. SERVICE HOUR OPPORTUNITIES:

FLYER INVITATIONAL: Come support our boys and girls soccer teams.  We need volunteers on Nov 14th and 15th from 4-9 p.m. Volunteers are also needed all day Nov 16th.  Some shifts will be at Messmer and some at Cargill.  Check out the signup link below for more information about the different volunteer opportunities, time, and place.

CONCESSIONS: We still have several football games that need volunteers to serve concessions. Additionally, we have added soccer games to the concession stand sign up. All students who work the soccer games will receive 4 or more service hours, depending on the length of the games. Sign up at the link below.

GARDEN PARK:Garden Park meets every Wednesday, from 3 pm - 4 pm, at 9111 Linwood Avenue. Each week we participate in different and fun activities with the residents of Garden Park. For more information on this service hour opportunity, please contact Ms. Barker.

ST. JOSEPH’S CHURCH:  Please see the attached sheet for information on the bake sale, Nov. 23rd and 24th, to support our seven seminarians and three novitiates.  Please make sure your name and school are attached to the baked goods so that you can get service hours.
