Announcements for November 13, 2024 -  Style Show 

FOOTBALL PLAYOFFS: The Flyers will take on the Sophie B. Wright Warriors this Friday, November 15 in the Bi-District Playoffs. Gates open at 6pm and kickoff is at 7pm. Per LHSAA playoff rules, all guests must pay at the gate including all students, faculty, season pass holders, All Sports Pass Holders, and Blue Seat holders. Tickets are $11.50 each (including fees) and are available online at https://gofan.co/event/2226746?schoolId=LA23475 and at the gate with credit/debit, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. No cash is accepted for admission. Come out and cheer on our Flyers! 

SENIORS: Loyola has three colleges visiting campus next week:

Savannah College of Art and Design - Tuesday, Nov 19 at 8:30

Louisiana State University at Alexandria - Wednesday, Nov 20 at 11:30

Centenary College - Thursday, Nov 21 at 10:30

• Juniors and seniors, remember that you must register for these visits on Scoir at least 24 hours in advance.

BOY’S SOCCER: The Loyola boy’s soccer team defeated Benton in their home opener tonight 2-1. Goals came from freshman Whit Sample and senior Mark Henry.

PORTER’S COAT DRIVE: Please bring in gently used or new coats to help those in need this winter season. The coats can be dropped off in the box located in the front office.  The 1st pick up will be before Thanksgiving break and the second pickup will be before Christmas break. Let’s show our Faith in Action to our local community. 

TOY DRIVE: FAiTH will be holding a competition between the homeroom classes! Tuesday, November 12 thru Thursday, November 21, we will be collecting toys for Santa to hand out to the children on FAiTH Day. Please bring NEW and unwrapped toys for both girls and boys, ages 1-15. Suggestions include: baby dolls, board games, basketballs, footballs, and soccer balls. Think of all of the fun toys you played with at that age and pay it forward! The second place homeroom will get a free Dillas card and a free Canes meal card. The WINNING HOMEROOM will get a free Dillas card and a free Canes meal card, AND a doughnut breakfast on Friday, November 22! In order for a homeroom to win, there must be at least 1 toy turned in per person in that homeroom. Bring toys to your homeroom teacher!!! Spread joy this Christmas season!!! 

FAiTH: Officers and members are reminded that they are to clean up after the Friday, Nov. 15th home football game.  There will be a sign up sheet on Ms. Hymel’s office door. 

PEP RALLY: There will be a pep rally during homeroom on Friday, November 15th. The pep rally will celebrate the successes of fall sports and will start at roughly 10am.

Please note, due to the Flyers Football Playoff game on Friday, all Invitational games scheduled for Messmer Stadium will now be played at C.E. Byrd.

BASKETBALL:  The girls basketball team will be scrimmaging Calvary at Loyola on Thursday November 14th at 5:30 pm. Both basketball teams will play in a jamboree Saturday November 16th at Calvary at 1:00 pm. Come out to support your Flyers as they prepare for their upcoming seasons!

LUNCH: Students must order lunch a week in advance via a Google form here:  Week of 11.18 -11.22.2024.  https://forms.gle/LgBPMF8TNyuQ3du1AThe deadline to order meals for the week is FRIDAY at 2:30pm. Funds will be deducted from the student/faculty My School Bucks account.

Orders are charged even if they are not picked up.Orders must be placed from the students Loyola Google account/email. Orders not picked up by the 2nd half of lunch will be made available for sale. If you will be late due a meeting, test, etc, please arrange to have your lunch picked up. 

Due to our vendor agreement with our Cafe provider, fast food or delivery are not allowed. Lunch should either be ordered from the Cafe, or brought from home.  No exceptions.

SEASON PASSESS BASKETBALL AND SOCCER: Season Passes for Basketball and Soccer are now on sale. Basketball passes are $84 each and Soccer Passes are $96 each for Boys and $64 each for girls. Each card allows for 1 admission to every pre and regular season game for freshmen, JV and Varsity games. Children 6 and under get in free.

SOFTBALL FUNDRAISER: Support your Lady Flyers Softball by purchasing a Flyer Athletics Stadium Cushion for $15.75. The cushions are a 13” x 14” closed cell foam with a handle and are water resistant. SERVICE HOUR OPPORTUNITIES:

FLYER INVITATIONAL: Come support our boys and girls soccer teams.  We need volunteers on Nov 14th and 15th from 4-9 p.m. Volunteers are also needed all day Nov 16th.  Some shifts will be at Messmer and some at Cargill.  Check out the signup link below for more information about the different volunteer opportunities, time, and place.

CONCESSIONS: We still have several football games that need volunteers to serve concessions. Additionally, we have added soccer games to the concession stand sign up. All students who work the soccer games will receive 4 or more service hours, depending on the length of the games. Sign up at the link below.

GARDEN PARK:Garden Park meets every Wednesday, from 3 pm - 4 pm, at 9111 Linwood Avenue. Each week we participate in different and fun activities with the residents of Garden Park. For more information on this service hour opportunity, please contact Ms. Barker.

ST. JOSEPH’S CHURCH:  Please see the attached sheet for information on the bake sale, Nov. 23rd and 24th, to support our seven seminarians and three novitiates.  Please make sure your name and school are attached to the baked goods so that you can get service hours. 

SHREVEPORT OPERA GUILD: Les Boutiques de Noel (11/22-11/24) at the Shreveport Convention Center needs volunteers, particularly on set-up days (11/20-11/21) after school. Please sign up to volunteer!
