November 14, 2023Announcements for Tuesday, November 14, 2023 - Today is a B day.
- Lady Flyers Soccer concluded their preseason schedule this past weekend. The team went on the road and defeated Northwood 9-0. The game was a full team effort, as seven different Flyers contributed goals and assists. The regular season gets underway this Friday night at 5:00 at Messmer Stadium as the girls kick off the 11th Annual Flyer Invitational against St Thomas Moore. Come out and support your Flyers!
- Boys and Girls Basketball will play tonight at BTW beginning at 6:00PM.
- The Boys Varsity soccer team vs. North Caddo tonight at 6:30pm at Messmer Stadium. This is a change from the originally scheduled time. LCP students get in free with their Student ID (must have physical ID, no photos.) Tickets are $6. Loyola is now CASHLESS for athletic event entry. Tickets can be purchased online in advance using this link https://gofan.co/app/school/LA23475 or with credit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay at the gate. Children 6 and under do not need a ticket. - Students must order lunch a week in advance via a Google form here: Week of 11.27-12.01.2023. https://forms.gle/i1pBqKdt7TvaMhvf9 - The deadline to order meals for the week is FRIDAY at 2:30pm. Funds will be deducted from the student/faculty My School Bucks account. **Orders are charged even if they are not picked up. ** Orders must be placed from the students Loyola Google account/email. Orders not picked up by the 2nd half of lunch will be made available for sale. If you will be late due a meeting, test, etc, please arrange to have your lunch picked up. Due to our vendor agreement with our Cafe provider, fast food or delivery are not allowed. Lunch should either be ordered from the Cafe, or brought from home. No exceptions.
- Coats for Kids - Porter's Cleaners is collecting donations of new & gently used coats. There is a drop-off box located in the front office. Each year, with your help, Coats for Kids is able to distribute hundreds of coats across our cities! Donate today!
- Softball Fundraiser - Do you like baked goods? Well lucky for you LCP softball will be selling sweet treats at lunch every Monday of November! Be sure to bring $2 so you can support our team!
- Loyola College Prep is hosting a Veterans’ Celebration on Thursday, Nov. 16th - 9:20 a.m. - 10:50 a.m. at Cathedral Of St. John Berchmans. Loyola students will honor our veterans with a Mass, guest speaker and music. There will be a reception following in St. Vincent’s Hall. This celebration is for all parents, family members, alumni and community members.
- Fr. Raney Johnson, our Diocesan Vocations Director, will be hosting a Quo Vadis Vocations Retreat for young men in high school in the Diocese of Shreveport. The retreat is in Shreveport on December 9th and 10th. Please share this information with the high school aged young men in your parish. Interested students can register using the QR code on the attached flyer.
- Service Hour Opportunity - St. Joseph Catholic Church is hosting its annual St. Nick's Feast and Gumbo Cook-Off on December 2nd! There are service hours available for the feast or if you would like to participate in the cook-off, there is a sign-up for that as well! Please see the links below:

- Service Hour Opportunities - The 11th Annual Girls' Soccer Flyer Invitational needs volunteers this weekend. We still have several spots that need filling at Messmer Stadium :
Friday: Gate Fee 4:15-6p and 6p-8p
Concession stand 6p-8p
Saturday: Concessions 8a-11a and 2p-5p
Gate 8a-11a and 2p- 5p
*Also helping each night with trash would be great as well.
Please contact Michelle B. (318) 355-5775 call or text.- Service Hour Opportunity - Mary’s Workers Seminarian Bake Sale is coming up November 18th & 19th. All proceeds will go to our Seminarians. You can earn 2 service hours by providing baked goods for sale. Any baked goods should be decorated, wrapped, and labeled. Please email Kay Nader at [email protected], if you would like to donate baked goods. If you are bringing baked goods, the days and times for delivery are as follows: • Saturday (11/18) from 1 pm until 4 pm, (you can deliver bake sale items to the gathering space in the back of church). • Sunday (11/19) 30 minutes prior to each Mass, (you can deliver bake sale items to the back of the church). Sunday Mass times at St. Joseph Catholic Church are 7:30 am, 9:30 am, 12:30 pm & 6 pm. The church address is 204 Patton Avenue, Shreveport, LA 71105.
- Service Hour Opportunities - The Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana is partnering with Sportspectrum for the annual Turkey Trot run on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 23rd. We need volunteers the week of Thanksgiving to help with race registration and packets at Sportspectrum. We will also need volunteers at the event Thanksgiving morning.
