Daily Announcements 11/17/2021

• Homerooms, get your game-plan together! The FAiTH toy drive homeroom competition is happening from now through Friday, November 19. The winning homeroom needs to have at least 1 toy turned in for each student in the homeroom, as well as the highest number of toys brought in. Students in the winning homeroom will each receive a gift card for a Cane's Box meal AND a gift card for a quesadilla from Dillas!!! Turn in your toys to your homeroom teacher any day between now and the 19th! Help an under privileged child have a new toy for Christmas!

• Swim Team News: Gus Nicolosi will compete in the state swim meet today and Thursday.  Good luck, Gus!

• Basketball tonight - JV Boys at Huntington @ 5:30; Girls JV vs. Southwood at HOME. Let's go Flyers!

• Congratulations to the Loyola Cross Country Team for finishing in 4th place at the 2021 LHSAA State Championship Cross Country Meet! 
  • The team broke a record and became the fastest team in school history! The Girls Team was led by Aidan Heard who finished 13th overall, followed by Kate Fortune, Bridget John, Caroline Henry, Mary Walker, Sarah Roppolo and Maeve Chmielewski (alternate runner Adriana Martin). The Boys Team was led by Jonah Drouillard who also finished 13th overall, followed by Tripp Roemer, Jackson Drouillard, Mark Henry, Warren Graves, Elliott White and Jackson McNeill (alternate runners Carter Ward, Rhys Armagost, Barro Massad, Patrick Haynes and Thomas Yokem). We give thanks to God for an incredible season and to the entire Loyola family for all of their support!

• Service Hour Opportunity - 

St. Joseph is holding its annual St. Nick's Feast and Gumbo Cook-Off on Saturday, December 4, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the St. Joseph Church Family Life Center.  Volunteers are needed to help with set-up, working during the event, and post-event clean-up.

• Service Hour Opportunity - Christmas in Roseland is in need of volunteers for various stations this year throughout the holiday season.  Shifts are from 5:30 - 7:30 PM and 7:30 - 9:30 PM. If you are interested, please sign up in the Loyola office. DEADLINE TO SIGN UP IS FRIDAY.

• Students must order lunch a week in advance via a Google form here: Week of 11.29.21 – 12.03.21.https://forms.gle/fQrG8PYckKtn3gtG6   The deadline to order meals for the week is THURSDAY (11/25) at 4:00pm. Funds will be deducted from the student/faculty My School Bucks account. **Orders are charged even if not picked up. ** Orders must be placed from the students Loyola Google account/email.  Orders not picked up by the 2nd half of lunch will be made available for sale. If you will be late due a meeting, test, etc, please arrange to have your lunch picked up.

• Coats for Kids - Now through WEDNESDAY, Porter's Cleaners will be collecting donations of new & gently used coats.  There is a drop-off box located in the Loyola office.  Last year, with your help, Coats for Kids was able to distribute 1500 coats across our cities!
