December 10, 2021THE ADVENT SEASON
In the chapel and in the school entry, there are placed Advent wreaths. Did you know that the circular shape reflects both God’s never ending love for us and eternity which is the destination of each human being. Ask yourself today, do I give enough attention to my eternal life and preparation of my soul for eternity? Having a focus on more than just this life let’s us see our lives from the Truth of our Christian faith- the fact that we were created for life with Him and in Him forever.
Announcements for Friday, December 10, 2021 - Today is a B day.- Exam Schedule - Off Schedule Exams begin later this week. Regular Exam Schedule is as follows:
- Thursday December 16th - Social Studies 8:00 and Math 9:30
- Friday, December 17th - English 8:00 and Science 9:30
- Student volunteers are needed for a December 18 community project called Wreaths Across America. Volunteers will help place a wreath on 800 veterans graves at the Greenwood Cemetery (on Stoner Ave. not far from LCP). The ceremony begins at 11:00 a.m. Register to volunteer online at https://www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/.
- The boys' soccer team will play this Saturday at 3:00 at Messmer against Natchitoches. On Monday, they will be at Messmer again to play West Monroe at 5:30 followed by a JV game against Byrd at 7:30. See you there!
- FAiTH Chairmen Applications for next year are available in Ms. Hymel's office. The application must be completed and returned in person, not by email. to Ms. Hymel by Friday, December 17, no exceptions will be made for late submissions. Come by Ms. Hymel's office anytime for an application.
- If you are interested in discerning your vocation in the Catholic Church with your fellow Flyers, please sign up for the Loyola Discernment Groups:
- Students must order lunch a week in advance via a Google form here: Week of 12.13.21 – 12.15.21. https://forms.gle/gsgQR1uX1UCUpiwu7 The deadline to order meals for the week is FRIDAY at 2:30pm. Funds will be deducted from the student/faculty My School Bucks account. **Orders are charged even if not picked up. ** Orders must be placed from the students Loyola Google account/email. Orders not picked up by the 2nd half of lunch will be made available for sale. If you will be late due a meeting, test, etc, please arrange to have your lunch picked up.
- Service Hour Opportunity - The Salvation Army of Northwest Louisiana is going to fill Angel Tree toy bags over the next seven days at their Corps Community Center, 200 E. Stoner Ave. Volunteers are welcome until 5pm on Dec.10, and especially Dec. 13-14. You also may come on Saturday, Dec. 11, from 8 am-11am to help with Angel Tree. Contact Scott McCloud, Volunteer Coordinator at 318-424-3200, ext. 23 with questions.

- Trivia Night is Jan. 29, 2022 at Loyola College Prep! The Loyola Junior class parents will host this fun night of trivia, which raises money for the LPA. Tickets are $50 each and include dinner and trivia. Doors open at 6 p.m. and trivia starts at 7 p.m. Get your team of 10 together and register by clicking here!
