Loyola College Prep is excited to welcome our new Chaplains, Father Jerry Daigle, Jr. and Father Raney Johnson!
Father Jerry Daigle, Jr. is the newest member of the St. John Berchmans family as he took his place as Fr. Mangum’s associate at the beginning of July. Fr. Dailge is originally from South Louisiana, but he grew up in North Central Texas. He came to the Diocese of Shreveport as a college student in 1989, and he graduated from Northeast Louisiana University (now ULM) in Monroe. Now, Father Daigle is making a new home in Shreveport, and is delighted to have the chance to serve the Cathedral parish and school as our Parochial Vicar, and Loyola College Prep as chaplain.
Father Raney Johnson is a recently ordained priest for the diocese of Shreveport. He was born and raised in Shreveport. He attended and graduated from Southwood High School, and he graduated from Louisiana Tech University. He is the parochial vicar at St. Mary of the Pines, and is now one of the chaplains here at Loyola College Prep. He looks forward to working with all the parents and students and helping to continue to build the great Catholic culture at the only Catholic High School in Shreveport.
Father Raney and Father Daigle have an office in our Main Building and will rotate being present on campus. We look forward to having Father Daigle and Father Raney here to demonstrate Faith in Action, and help our students, faculty, and staff grow in their Catholic identity.
