Hello, welcome to Loyola College Prep! My name is Modica Tompkins and I am the President
of Loyola Parent’s Association (LPA). Loyola is a special place for me and my family as I am a
1990 graduate, my husband, Les a 1987 graduate, my oldest daughter, Ainsley, a 2019 graduate, my son, Ellis, a 2021 graduate, and my youngest daughter, Emma, is a junior this year.
The Loyola Parent’s Association is beyond excited about your choice to send your child to LCP. The LPA is an organization that sponsors events, raises funds, and helps support students, faculty and staff at Loyola. We help the students, faculty, and families by supporting and inspiring students to be their best and to live out their mission statement of being men and women of conscience, character and compassion. Parental involvement and support
help make Loyola a great place.
Your family is automatically a member of the LPA upon registration. Therefore, if your child is
attending LCP you are already a member. My goal for this year is that you become an active
member in the LPA. I encourage you to become an active member by attending events and
sharing your time and talents with us.
The LPA has different committees such as class representatives, hospitality, moms in prayer,
comfort and care, rosary group, Catholic schools week, homecoming, special events, and the
uniform closet. They also sponsor of variety of events such as trivia night, style show, and
casino night for our graduating seniors. I encourage you explore the LCP/LPA web page to get
more details on these LPA committees and events. The webpage will be updated with dates and important information throughout the school year.
Attending LPA sponsored events is a great way to learn about the events, meet people, and
become an active part of our flyer community. I want to encourage you to attend as many events as you can. When you see tickets go on sale for Style Show grab one and go! The Style Show will be in November and there will be tables in general admission reserved for underclassman parents. So, grab a ticket and go support our seniors! Then in January grab your new friends that you have met and get your tickets for Trivia Night. Playing heads and tails and the seventh inning stretch are all such fun parts of Trivia Night.
We hope you will join us at our month meetings. LPA meetings are held at noon on the first Wednesday of each month and in the Catholic Center on Fairfield (the old SVA behind the mall). The meetings are short and sweet, but contain lots of important information. These meetings are a great way to get involved and to meet other members of our flyer family.
Lastly, I look forward to meeting all the new parents, and please let me know if you have any
questions about LPA. I hope to see you all of you soon. We would greatly appreciate your involvement as a Loyola parent.
Thank you for choosing Loyola as the place to send your child. Welcome to The Flyer Family.
Go Flyers!
