Dear Loyola College Prep Community,
Our search for Loyola College Prep’s next Principal has reached a significant milestone and is worthy of another update. Recently, the Principal Search Committee held interviews with a slate of semi-finalist candidates. After committee discussion, review of desired attributes and qualifications, and prayerful discernment, the Search Committee is inviting two finalists to visit campus today, May 13 and tomorrow, Wednesday, May 14. The finalist visits will afford additional school stakeholders the opportunity to meet the candidates and a chance for both Loyola College Prep and the candidates to determine a mutual fit.
The finalists will spend time on campus, individually meeting with certain students, faculty/staff, parents, alumni and friends, and members of the Board. As a best practice ensuring confidentiality in this last and most critical stage of the process, we will not release the candidates’ names in advance. Those meeting with each finalist will receive a paper copy of the candidate’s curriculum vitae. To aid the Search Committee in recommending the appointment of the next Principal, we will seek survey feedback from those meeting with the finalists.
It was evident to all members of the Search committee that our finalists have a passion and understanding of Loyola College Prep’s mission and vision. As we prepare to host the finalists on campus, your continued prayers and support remain greatly appreciated.
Best Regards,
Sr. Carol Shively, Superintendent of Catholic Schools, Co-chair of the Search Committee
Leland G. Horton, Chair, Board of Directors; Co-chair of the Search Committee

Dear Loyola College Prep Community,
As Co-Chairs of the Principal Search Committee, we are pleased to provide an update on our progress. To identify the best candidates, we have decided to work with Partners in Mission, a nationally renowned firm specializing in Catholic school leadership, with Kyle Pietrantonio leading as our search consultant. Working with Partners in Mission will be a confidential Search Committee composed of various Loyola College Prep and diocesan stakeholders. Confidentiality throughout this process is standard practice when conducting a leadership search.
On March 18th and 19th, Kyle will visit our campus to meet with various stakeholders to gain insights into Loyola College Prep and the qualities we seek in future leadership. As part of the enrichment process, please complete this brief seven-question survey by 11pm on Sunday, March 16. (We thank you for your participation in our earlier survey and will consider that input in conjunction with this instrument.) Partners in Mission will then create a detailed search prospectus outlining this exciting opportunity. Once finalized—typically two weeks following the enrichment visit—we will share a copy with you.
The next phase of the search will involve Partners in Mission leveraging their national network to find mission-aligned candidates who are the best personal, professional, and cultural fit. By mid-April, the firm will present a vetted list of top candidates to the Search Committee for semi-finalist interviews. Advancing finalists, along with their spouses (if applicable), will then be invited for day-long visits to the school. The committee will then review feedback from the visits and submit a final hiring recommendation to the Board.
We anticipate that we will secure Loyola College Prep’s next Principal by the end of April, with a start date in early July. Keep in mind that the retained search function is a dynamic, fluid, and competitive process. Should top candidates emerge ahead of our anticipated schedule, we maintain the ability to adjust these timelines and remain best-positioned to secure the most ideal candidates currently available.
In the coming weeks, please watch for additional communications detailing the progress of our search efforts. In the interim, if you have questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact me. We remain grateful to all of you for your insights as the search moves forward, and we are confident that this process will identify the most ideal candidate able to continue and enhance the outstanding traditions we have come to expect at Loyola College Prep.
On behalf of the Search Committee, thank you for your trust and support. Please keep this process in your daily prayers.
Regards,
Sister Carol Shively, Superintendent for Catholic Schools
