PreACT
The PreACT gives sophomore students the opportunity to be best prepared for the official exam. We host the PreACT each year for our students to approach a students' greatest potential on testing day. Please click here for information on the Student Score Report.
American College Testing Program (ACT)
This test covers English, Math, Reading and Science Reasoning. A writing section is an optional feature, and we recommend that students sign up to take the written portion at least once. You can register online.
The Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT Reasoning Test)
This test restructured in March 2016 with SAT’s biggest goal to make sure the test became highly relevant to students’ future success. It is now more focused on the skills and knowledge at the heart of education. It measures what students learn in high school and what they need to succeed in college. It contains a reading test, writing and language test, math test and an optional essay. The optional essay will discontinue after the June 2021 SAT administration.
This test is published by the College Board. You can register in hard copy (available in the CIC) or online.
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
This test is to evaluate English proficiency of people whose native language is not English.
College Level Examination Program (CLEP)
These tests are offered by the College Entrance Examination Board, and many colleges accept them as credit toward a degree even though the person taking the test may not have gained experience or knowledge in a formal educational setting. These are usually given at the college level. CLEP testing is offered locally at the testing center at Bossier Parish Community College.
Advanced Placement Tests (AP)
These college-level tests are for students who have studied advanced placement courses in high school. College credit or advanced standing may be earned by taking these tests if certain scores are made and the college accepts those scores. These tests are conducted by the College Board but administered by the high school.

How does Loyola "prep" your student for ACT Success?
AT SCHOOL
A semester elective ACT course is offered to students. This course uses the Cambridge Test Prep curriculum and is a great option for those who are able to fit it into their schedule. The course is restricted only by class/schedule availability.
ONLINE
A benefit to all Loyola students that is included in tuition, is the Naviance ACT prep. It's free to all students on Naviance accounts.
