Uniform Guidelines

Please refer to the Student Handbook for all official changes to school policies.

Students are expected to be well-groomed and neatly dressed. The uniform should be worn properly at all times during the school day.

The school uniform should be purchased at Shreveport Gymnastics, 4727 Line Avenue, telephone: 869-1206.  The school also has a uniform closet located in the Anderson Building.

MALES & FEMALES

• All LCP uniform wear must have the branded logo.
• Male and female uniform bottoms may not be rolled down at the waistband or up from the hem, cuffed, or split. Pants must be worn at the natural waist.
• Girls skirt hems should hit the top of the knee in the front and back.  Shorts should be worn under skirts. Failing to meet this length requirement will result in the parent being contacted with an option to bring a new skirt or to remove the hem from the existing skirt, or sending the student home. It is the expectation of the Administration that parents will assist the school in helping promote proper skirt lengths. Skirt waists should not be rolled.
• All shorts  must be 5” when kneeling from the ground. 
• All boys and girls shorts/pants fit must be “loose” with discretion determined by any administrator
• No sweatshirts of any kind allowed except on Casual Fridays (see below for Casual Friday rules).
• Student ID access badges must be visible at all times on campus. In the event the ID badge is lost or becomes inoperable the office is to be notified immediately.  Replacement cost is $22.00.
• During the 2nd and 3rd nine weeks, blazers are to be worn in the building at all times unless otherwise directed by a teacher or the administration. 
• If t-shirts are worn under uniform shirts, they must be solid white only -- undershirt sleeves may not hang out below blue oxford cloth shirt sleeves.
• All shoes designed with lace eyelets must have shoe strings. 
• Official navy LCP Uniform sweaters and fleece are available at Shreveport Gymnastics. These may be worn at any time; however, during the 2^nd and 3^rd quarters, they must be worn under a student’s blazer. 
• The only apparel that replaces the blazer is a letter jacket or letter sweater. No student is allowed to wear another person’s letter jacket or letter sweater at school.
• School shirts must be tucked in at all times during the day and must be worn under all outerwear.
• Baseball caps and hats are not allowed during the school day, except on advertised costume/dress days and must be worn properly when allowed.
• Belt loops may not be removed from pants.
• Boys’ hair length must not extend beyond the top of the collar, nor fall below the eyebrows. Hair may not be held in place with the aid of ears, hairspray, gel, or other hair accessories (ponytails, hairpins, etc).Exaggerated styles, specifically color or excessive use of gels or sprays, are not permitted. All male students must be clean-shaven. Neither hair nor sideburns shall extend beyond the earlobe. 
• No extreme or distracting hairstyles or colors will be allowed for males or females. This includes hair of two or more colors, mohawks, mullets, hair of unnatural color, extremely spiked hair, and no lines, designs, or feathers are allowed in hair.
• Male students are not to wear earrings to school or school functions.
• No visible tattoos (permanent or temporary) or skin branding, earlobe spacers, or contact lens alterations.
• Any type of boot, and high-top or three-quarter top shoes, Toms, and sandals are forbidden (unless designated by the Administration, sandals must be closed heeled or have a heel strap). Rainboots/duck boots are to be taken off before entering the school.
• Plain tennis shoes (see below chart for details) may be worn during the first and fourth quarters with shorts and skirts only. Tennis shoes must be in good repair and tied at all times. 
• CASUAL FRIDAY: Students may wear spirit shirts with uniform bottoms. Students may also wear athletic pullovers, sweatshirts and tennis shoes. No boots, rainboots, or hoodies are allowed at any time. Casual Fridays are a privilege for students, and administration reserves the right to take this privilege away at their own discretion. 
• “Dress Theme” days still follow the dictates of good taste and safety established by the school. Immodest attire or attire condoning immoral or illegal activity will not be allowed. School uniform must be worn if the student is not dressed in the designated theme.  Unless noted otherwise, the out of uniform dress code for the school day is listed below:
  • Pants and shorts must fit at the natural waist.
  • All dresses, shorts, and skirts must hit at the top of the knee
  • Jeans, capris, cropped pants, etc. are allowed as long as there are no holes in them.
  • Sleeveless shirts are acceptable, as long as they are not “tank tops” or do not have spaghetti straps and bra straps are not showing.
  • Yoga pants and/or leggings may not be worn alone as pants; pajama pants are not allowed. Sweat pants/joggers are acceptable as long as they are appropriate.
  • Tops don’t have to be tucked in, but they may not be too low cut at the neckline and must not expose the midriff.
  • Boots or sandals may be worn, but students may not wear flip flops.

All dress code infractions will be handled through Penance Hall, suspension or expulsion. The Administration is the final judge in matters relating to the school uniform.
